Shahab Mehrabi is a Swedish‑Iranian Kurdish filmmaker, writer, and actor known for his bold and thought‑provoking short films. Born in Iran and raised in Köping, Sweden, he studied film for five years and has developed a distinctive voice exploring themes of identity, power, globalism, and cultural dynamics in contemporary society.
Mehrabi gained critical recognition early in his career when his short film Götaplatsen #flerochfler won the prestigious Startsladden prize at the Göteborg Film Festival, one of Sweden’s largest arenas for short cinema. The award celebrates innovative voices and challenging storytelling, highlighting his commitment to new narrative forms.
