Serwa Aliveisy is a Kurdish filmmaker, actress and documentarian born in Sine (Sanandaj), Eastern Kurdistan (Iran). She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and studied cinema at the Eight Millimeter Academy of Cinema, beginning her film career in 2008.
Alivaisy’s work spans directing, acting, and production roles. She has acted in several short films, and worked behind the scenes as a script supervisor and First Assistant Director on numerous projects.
As a filmmaker, Alivaisy has written and directed short fiction and documentary films, including He (2019), which she also produced and wrote, and her documentary Rojin Is Dream which competed in the Documentary Competition at the 11th Duhok International Film Festival.
Her work reflects a commitment to storytelling rooted in social insight and emotional resonance, bridging cultural experience with cinematic expression.
