After studying sociology, journalism and ethnology, Robert Krieg initially worked as a lecturer and sociologist in research projects on migration and marginalisation. Since 1983, he has worked primarily as a documentary filmmaker in Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. He has lectured in Cuba, led media projects in Palestine and, in 1997, founded a production company in Cologne together with Monika Nolte. Krieg is involved in several institutions, including temporarily in the WDR Broadcasting Council, the Filmbüro NW and the AG DOK.
