Biography

Foad Lotfi is an Kurdish filmmaker from East-Kurdistan (Iran) and actor who graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Cinema Directing. He has gained hands-on experience as an assistant director on films including Bouk, Habibullah, Qalb Seg, and Garg Band, all written and directed by Adnan Zandi.

In addition to his work behind the camera, Lotfi has acted in films such as Bouk, Man of Color, and Life Without Absurd. As a writer and director, he has created two films, Tirak and Playmate. His short film Playmate has been presented internationally at festivals including the 25th Liberec Sports Film Festival in the Czech Republic, the 16th Barcelona Sports Film Festival, the 1st Vichy France Short Film Festival, and the 13th Iranian 100 Second Film Festival.

Lotfi’s work spans multiple facets of filmmaking, blending narrative skill with performance, and his films often explore human experience, culture, and resilience with a unique artistic vision.
