The award for best short documentary this year will go to Adnan Zandi’s Habibullah. Habibullah is a story of resilience, one that captures the determination to pursue a way of life without being restricted by religious dogmas while remaining faithful to one’s own set of beliefs.
The film’s playful nature highlights the unexpected tension between rural communities and religious traditions, by blending one’s passion for music, and the consequences of shame caused by the exposure of social media.
