Biography

Born in Adıyaman in 1992, Yalçın Çiftçi graduated from Marmara University’s Turkish
Language and Literature Department. In addition to teaching, he has been a
professional photographer for many years. His photographs have appeared in
prestigious publications such as Atlas magazine and have won significant photography
awards. Çiftçi, who continues to tell human stories using the visual power of
photography, has recently turned to documentary filmmaking and continues to work in
this field. “Children of the White Mountain,” which won the FIPRESCI Award at the
Istanbul Film Festival, attracted attention in the film world and became one of the most
critically acclaimed films of the year in Türkiye. He is also pursuing a master’s degree in
Radio, Cinema, and Television at Çukurova University, furthering his academic studies
in cinema.
