Synopsis

AGAINST FORGETTING tells the stories of four individuals in Amed (Diyarbakir), a city in Northern Kurdistan, as they navigate life amid political turmoil. In September 2016, the Turkish President appointed trustees to replace elected officials in pro-Kurdish municipalities, stripping local governments of their power. Despite these challenges, the participants remain committed to preserving Kurdish culture—through the land, the body, food, and music. As their narratives unfold, timeless struggles between good and evil emerge on a vivid and dramatic stage.
