Shawkat Amin Korki is a Kurdish director and producer. He was born in 1973 in Zaxo in Bashur. He is living and working in KRG. In 2006, Korki gained international recognition with his debut feature film CROSSING THE DUST (2006). MEMORIES ON STONE (2014) has been Korki’s greatest success and was the official entry of Iraq for the Best Foreign Film Competition of the Academy Awards.
