Director Kaisa Rastimo was one the few female directors in Finland during the 1990’s and 2000’s. All of her films from documentary to fiction have repeatedly been awarded in international film festivals both in Finland and internationally. Some of her films have been great box-office hits in Finland.
Characteristic of Rastimo’s films is experientality and uniqueness. Many of her films have been ahead of their time.
Eventually Kaisa Rastimo got fed up with the misogyny prevailing in the film business, and quit making films. Nasrin’s voice is Kaisa Rastimo’s first film in fifteen years.
